I didn't say how the BoS in New Vegas was written was a bad thing. I don't always agree with their methods but I see 'em.īGS's portrayal of the BoS in Fallout 4 is pretty much the best part about the game and I really, really want a sequel to take place in the heart of the United States so that we can someday see how the NCR and Brotherhood interact when they're both legitimate nations, that don't want to risk all-out war, lest they destroy America once more. Under his watch, the Brotherhood is still violent against non-humans (not the best stance to take when Super Mutants on the West Coast have begun proving themselves as valuable members of civilization, worth protecting and understanding) but they accept outsiders into their ranks, they protect human civilization, and they're ready and willing to sacrifice if it means keeping pre-war tech from further destroying the human way of life. He reestablished communication with the West Coast Brotherhood, and has adopted ideals from both them, and from his predecessor, Lyons. He established the Brotherhood of Steel as a nation, and made the Capitol Wasteland a safe place to live. So, what are your thoughts on this? Which faction stands as the most reasonable one?Ĭlick to shrink.Maxson is a prime asshole, but he made crossroads. Yet every other faction is hellbent on getting rid of them as the only solution to the problem. Go full Wakanda.ĭespite being painted as the big villain of the Commonwealth, the game shows that there's more to the institute than kidnappings and replacing people with synths. Specially considering you become the new leader of the Institute after Father dies, so as far as head-canon goes, you could lead the institute into a better future, making them more open to the outside world even. And, despite some misguided intentions, it always felt like destroying the Institute was such a waste. During my first playthrough I sided with the BoS for roleplaying purposes (I mean, the PC is a vet.) and then with the Institute because I wanted to see more of their side of the story. I'm doing another playthrough of Fallout 4 - this time with all the DLC - and for the first time I'm siding with the Railroad.

And why is the Institute the correct one? /jk.
